                                  Luxembourg Business Angel Network -
4 Years of Growth and Involvement

As the Luxembourg Business Angel Network a.s.b.l. (LBAN) approaches its 4th birthday, we are delighted to announce a continued increase in interest and activity in LBAN’s objectives.

Established in 2004, the mission of LBAN is: “seek profit and get involved”. Our main activity is to match the skill- and capital-seekingentrepreneur with the experienced private investor (Business Angel) who has management skill, time and capital to invest. Business Angels are
individuals who have a proven business record and the financial resources to invest in new business ventures with high growth potential and are willing to share their personal business experience, contacts and network with the entrepreneur.

LBAN regularly presents innovative projects (we have reviewed a total of around 80 projects since our foundation) to its members at Investment Forums (there have been 8 such Forums so far) held in a variety of prestigious venues such as the Bourse de Luxembourg, the Banque de
Luxembourg and Fortis Bank. In addition LBAN has arranged several events at the Chambre de Commerce and Fortis Bank, allowing high-profile internationally successful Business Angels to present the opportunities and successes that await the active investor, as well as how to avoid potential pitfalls.

The classic Business Angel investment takes place after the entrepreneur has invested his own (and perhaps his family’s and friends’) money, but before the relevant government bodies, banks and other institutional investors are prepared to become involved.

LBAN has created a structured match-making forum in which entrepreneurs and Business Angels can meet. Successful matches subsequently result in the investment of time and money in start-up businesses e.g. expansion of food business in the US, Biotech research in pre-commercialisation phase, car wash service development in syndication, free high level consultancy for preparation of institutional funding, crossborder co-operation in windmill business, board membership as well as funding assistance in mobile booking company.

LBAN creates value by facilitating the development of innovative business ideas and is therefore a vital contributor to the investment cycle and to the increasing support that Luxembourg is providing for entrepreneurial initiatives – which are essential to the future of any commercially progressive society.

                                  Future events include:
                                  Investment Forum October 5th 2008
Annual European Business Angel Network Winter Academy October 31st 2008
